Course Content

Course overview
This course considers the history and technical evolution of mobile telecommunications before moving on to cover the core functions of the spectrum manager. Participants will learn about how spectrum is used, the characteristics of spectrum bands and the progression of mobile technologies. The course also covers the principles of spectrum planning at a national, regional and international level. A deep dive into spectrum licensing will be followed by an overview of regulatory topics that relate to spectrum, such as infrastructure sharing, and numerous illustrative case studies.

Nitin Sapra joined the GSMA in 2011 and offers 11 years of substantive experience in Spectrum and Policy issues in mobile telecom industry. He is now responsible for leading the spectrum strategy in the South Asia region. He also anticipates and responds to spectrum-related policy decisions and provides insight, knowledge and analysis of this region to the organisation’s global public policy team. Mr Sapra works closely with member operators to create long-term understanding and support for spectrum. He holds an engineering degree in electronics and communication, as well as a post-graduate degree in wireless communications.
