SUMMARY:Personal Data in the Context of Mobile Networks
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nOver the last decade\, the mobile phone has become the primary means for people to access the internet whenever they want and wherever they go. This has led not only to alternative internet-based communications services\, but also to an explosion of third party online services that make intensive use of personal information via the mobile phone. \nThe course explains what data is collected from users across the mobile ecosystem and how it is stored\, used and accessed\, as well as the related data protection and privacy implications for government\, industry and other stakeholders. \nCourse Objectives  \n\nUnderstand the essential elements of a mobile network and how they influence the kinds of consumer information operators can access or determine.\nDiscover what operators do with consumers’ personal data and how data privacy laws\, including those concerned with cross-border data flows\, affect the services offered by mobile operators.\nDevelop an understanding of the data privacy issues raised by new technologies such as 5G\, big data analytics\, digital identity and the Internet of Things.\n\nCourse Enrolment Criteria \nThis course is open to: \n\nRegulators\nPolicymakers\nRepresentatives from academia and international organisations working on regulatory or policy issues\n\nWe cannot accept applications from individuals working in the private sector or those not involved in policy or regulation. \nCourse Completion Certificates \nAll our courses are certified by the United Kingdom Telecoms Academy (UKTA) and accredited for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). \n \n  \nThis course equates to 6 hours of CPD training. \n  \n  \nTo qualify for a course completion certificate\, you must view all the course sessions and answer correctly all the quiz questions you will find as you progress through the sessions. You will also need to fill out the course survey. \nCourse Structure and Study Time \nThe course consists of seven short sessions that you will gain access to as soon as you start the course. As this course is unmoderated\, you can study it at any time. It should take you no more than two to three hours of study time per week to complete the course in two weeks. However\, after enrolment\, you will have one month to complete this course. \nIf you have any special needs regarding this training course\, please us let us know via our contact form so we can get in touch to discuss how your needs can be met.

SUMMARY:The importance of sustainability and ESG to the mobile industry
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nSustainability is one of the defining issues of our generation. Consumers\, employees and regulators are increasingly vocal regarding their expectations for companies to act responsibly and to demonstrate how they create value to society. \nOperating in a responsible and sustainable way is not just about doing the right thing for society or the environment — it also makes business sense in today’s commercial environment. This course looks at why operating responsibly is so important for companies in the mobile sector\, and highlights how the industry is moving towards more effective and consistent approaches to measuring and communicating ESG performance. \nUnfortunately\, previous reporting approaches were fragmented and burdensome\, due to the multitude of global ESG reporting standards and an ‘alphabet soup’ of standard-setters. This was hindering meaningful action and transformation. However\, the sector has now defined at set of industry-specific ESG KPIs to streamline the process. \nThis course explains why ESG KPIs are important\, details the new KPIs that have been designed specifically for the mobile industry and explains the practical steps operators are taking to implement these metrics in their ESG reports. \nCourse Objectives \n\nLearn about the key elements of operating responsibly\nUnderstand the main challenges for mobile operators\nLearn about specific ESG KPIs that have been designed for the mobile industry\nUnderstand the value of the ESG KPIs\nLearn about operators’ ESG-related projects and initiatives via a number of case studies\n\nCourse Enrolment Criteria \nThis course is open to: \n\nRegulators\nPolicymakers\nRepresentatives from academia and international organisations working on regulatory or policy issues\n\nWe cannot accept applications from individuals working in the private sector or those not involved in policy or regulation. \nCourse Completion Certificates \nAll our courses are certified by the United Kingdom Telecoms Academy (UKTA) and accredited for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). \n \n  \nThis course equates to 10 hours of CPD training. \n  \n  \nTo qualify for a course completion certificate\, you must view all the course sessions and answer correctly all the quiz questions you will find as you progress through the sessions.

SUMMARY:Bridging the Mobile Gender Gap (in-person training)
DESCRIPTION:Introduction\nhttps://agylianetwork.sozowebdesign.co.uk/app/uploads/sites/2/2024/08/Bridging-the-Mobile-Gender-Gap-720p.mp4\n\nOverview\nThere is currently a significant gender gap associated with access to\, and use of\, the internet and mobile broadband services. This course aims to help policymakers understand the size and drivers of the mobile gender gap in low- and middle-income countries and provides insights and recommendations on how to improve digital inclusion for women. \nIt focuses on mobile\, since mobile has the power to transform lives and deliver broader societal benefits\, providing citizens with access to life-enhancing services\, often for the first time. Mobile is key to digital inclusion since it is now the primary way in which many gain access to the internet. \nThe course also focuses specifically on women. Despite the rapid growth in mobile technology\, there remains a gender gap in mobile phone access and use. This means that women are missing out on the benefits of mobile connectivity – it is critical for both women and society that this gender gap is addressed. In an increasingly connected world\, we cannot afford to leave anyone behind. \nCourse Objectives \n\nGain a better understanding of the issue and need for urgent action\nDiscover how gender perspectives can be integrated into strategies\, policies\, plans and budgets so they explicitly address women’s needs\, circumstances and preferences\nLearn how barriers such as affordability\, safety and security concerns\, digital skills\, access\, and the availability of relevant content can be addressed\nLearn about what other governments are doing to improve women’s digital inclusion\nDevelop an action plan for your country to reduce the mobile gender gap.\n\nWith Thanks To Our Partners \nThis course is offered through the GSMA Connected Women programme\, which works with governments\, the mobile industry\, the development community and others to improve digital and financial inclusion for women in low- and middle-income countries. The programme is funded by UK International Development from the UK government* and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). It is also supported by the GSMA and its members. \n \n \n*The views expressed do not necessarily reflect the UK government’s official policies. \nCourse Enrolment Criteria \nThis course is open to: \n\nRegulators\nPolicymakers\nRepresentatives from academia and international organisations working on regulatory or policy issues\n\nWe cannot accept applications from individuals working in the private sector or those not involved in policy or regulation. \nCourse Completion Certificates \nAll our courses are certified by the United Kingdom Telecoms Academy (UKTA) and accredited for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). \n \n  \nThis course equates to 10 hours of CPD training. \n  \n  \nTo qualify for a course completion certificate\, you must attend the face-to-face sessions. You will also need to fill out the course survey. \nCourse Structure and Study Time \nThe course consists of four sessions\, and you will gain access to all of them on the course start date. \nIf you have any special needs regarding this training course\, please let us know via our contact form so we can get in touch to discuss how your needs can be met.
