SUMMARY:The importance of sustainability and ESG to the mobile industry
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nSustainability is one of the defining issues of our generation. Consumers\, employees and regulators are increasingly vocal regarding their expectations for companies to act responsibly and to demonstrate how they create value to society. \nOperating in a responsible and sustainable way is not just about doing the right thing for society or the environment — it also makes business sense in today’s commercial environment. This course looks at why operating responsibly is so important for companies in the mobile sector\, and highlights how the industry is moving towards more effective and consistent approaches to measuring and communicating ESG performance. \nUnfortunately\, previous reporting approaches were fragmented and burdensome\, due to the multitude of global ESG reporting standards and an ‘alphabet soup’ of standard-setters. This was hindering meaningful action and transformation. However\, the sector has now defined at set of industry-specific ESG KPIs to streamline the process. \nThis course explains why ESG KPIs are important\, details the new KPIs that have been designed specifically for the mobile industry and explains the practical steps operators are taking to implement these metrics in their ESG reports. \nCourse Objectives \n\nLearn about the key elements of operating responsibly\nUnderstand the main challenges for mobile operators\nLearn about specific ESG KPIs that have been designed for the mobile industry\nUnderstand the value of the ESG KPIs\nLearn about operators’ ESG-related projects and initiatives via a number of case studies\n\nCourse Enrolment Criteria \nThis course is open to: \n\nRegulators\nPolicymakers\nRepresentatives from academia and international organisations working on regulatory or policy issues\n\nWe cannot accept applications from individuals working in the private sector or those not involved in policy or regulation. \nCourse Completion Certificates \nAll our courses are certified by the United Kingdom Telecoms Academy (UKTA) and accredited for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). \n \n  \nThis course equates to 10 hours of CPD training. \n  \n  \nTo qualify for a course completion certificate\, you must view all the course sessions and answer correctly all the quiz questions you will find as you progress through the sessions. You will also need to fill out the course survey. \nCourse Structure and Study Time \nThe course consists of five short sessions that you will gain access to as soon as you start the course. As this course is unmoderated\, you can study it at any time. It should take you no more than two to three hours of study time per week to complete the course in two weeks. However\, after enrolment\, you will have one month to complete this course. \nIf you have any special needs regarding this training course\, please us let us know via our contact form so we can get in touch to discuss how your needs can be met.

SUMMARY:Children’s Rights and Connectivity
DESCRIPTION:Introduction\nhttps://agylianetwork.sozowebdesign.co.uk/app/uploads/sites/2/2019/12/gsma_capacity_building-jenny_jones_v2-1080p-1.mp4\nOverview\nConnectivity and the digital environment are increasingly central to children’s lives. They afford numerous opportunities for the realisation of a number of children’s fundamental rights – such as access to information and education – but they can also create risks and play a role in rights violations. \nThis course looks at the various ways in which children are impacted by the digital environment. It considers the growing body of research on children’s digital experience\, as well as the role of policymakers and other key stakeholders in promoting opportunities whilst combatting potential risks. \nCourse Objectives \n\nUnderstand how child rights apply in the digital context\nLearn about the risks and opportunities faced by children online\nReflect on emerging global standards and good practice in the policymaking space\nBecome familiar with the range of approaches that can help support the realisation of children’s rights to\, through and in the digital environment.\n\nCourse Enrolment Criteria \nThis course is open to: \n\nRegulators\nPolicymakers\nRepresentatives from academia and international organisations working on regulatory or policy issues\n\nWe cannot accept applications from individuals working in the private sector or those not involved in policy or regulation. \nYou do not have to complete a final project to earn a course completion certificate but we strongly encourage you to create one. Putting together a final project will give you an opportunity to reflect on the principles covered during the course and help you discover how they could be applied to your own country. If you submit a final project the course trainer will provide you with valuable feedback that you may find useful in your day-to-day work. \nCourse Structure and Study Time \nThe course consists of six sessions and you will gain access to all of them on the course start date. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about the content of the course during a live chat session as well as on the course forum. \nIt should not take you more than two to three hours of study time per week to complete the course in three weeks. You will have\, however\, six weeks to complete it. If after six weeks you have not completed the course\, you will have to start it again next time it is offered. \nIf you decide to submit a final project\, it will probably take you four to six hours to put it together. You will have six weeks to submit your final project. \nIf you have any special needs regarding this training course\, please let us know via our contact form so we can get in touch to discuss how your needs can be met.
