DESCRIPTION:Overview\nCompetition in mobile telecommunications is multifaceted and dynamic. Regulatory authorities must be alert to rapid technological changes that impact infrastructure competition. \nThis two-day course provides a foundation for understanding the rules of competition and the regulatory powers that apply to the telecommunications sector\, taking into account the wider competitive landscape that now includes Over-The-Top players. \nCourse Objectives \n\nUnderstand the application of competition law as it applies to the telecommunications sector\, especially abuse of dominance and merger control.\nLook at the interaction between competition law and regulation\, especially Significant Market Power/Dominant Carrier regulation.\nCompare the treatment of the telecommunications sector in regulation and competition law with the situation in the wider communications ecosystem.\n\nCourse Enrolment Criteria \nThis course is open to: \n\nRegulators\nPolicymakers\nRepresentatives from academia and international organisations working on regulatory or policy issues\n\nWe cannot accept applications from individuals working in the private sector or those not involved in policy or regulation. \nCourse Completion Certificates \nAll our courses are certified by the United Kingdom Telecoms Academy (UKTA) and accredited for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). \n \n  \nThis course equates to 13 hours of CPD training. \n  \n  \nTo qualify for a course completion certificate\, you must attend the face-to-face training and fill out the course survey. \nCourse Structure and Study Time \nThe course consists of six sessions in a two-day face-to-face training and you will gain access to all of them on the course start date. \nIf you have any special needs regarding this training course\, please us let us know via our contact form so we can get in touch to discuss how your needs can be met. \n
